PROJECT IDEA AND OBJECTIVES:

Project idea: To disseminate, transfer and extend the results obtained by previous project INTERMOVE, the INTERMOVE Model, to other organisations active in mobility programmes.

Thanks to the mobilities funded by the European Commission in the field of Training and Education, millions of individuals have the chance to study or undertake internships overseas.

Learning mobility, that is transnational mobility for the purpose of acquiring new skills, is one of the fundamental ways through which individuals, particularly young people, can strengthen their future employability as well as their personal development (European Commission 2009). However, despite the general fulfilment, some barriers still stand in the way of these potential experiences.

It is at this point that the project INTERMOVE was developed from 2015 to 2017, tackling two of the barries related to European mobility, such as cross cultural issues and foreign language knowledge. The main innovation of INTERMOVE lies in combining the intercultural training with the use of language intercomprehension tools to prepare participants on mobility projects.

INTERMOVE has managed to favour International Mobility for Training and Education purposes by creating an open and collaborative learning pathway addressed to mentors dealing with the pre‐departure and upon‐arrival preparation of trainees and students, providing them with resources for b‐learning, elearning and face to face training sessions.

During the previous project, mobility participants received INTERMOVE training as well mentors from partner organisations and other third organizations which has allowed them to train their own participants.

INTERMOVE FOR TRAINERS aims at extending and transferring the INTERMOVE model to other partner organizations active in mobility programmes in Italy, Portugal, France, Ireland and Spain, making a step further by developing a specialized training for trainers programme that will not only allow partner organizations to train their mobility participants (pre‐departure and/or upon‐arrival) but train other third organizations on the INTERMOVE model and certify them with the INTERMOVE label, becoming INTERMOVE experts and multipliers of this model. Additionally, INTERMOVE FOR TRAINERS will develop a Network to extend the INTERMOVE label to third organizations.

RESULTS / IOS STRUCTURE:

IO1. INTERMOVE specialized training for trainers
Trainers from partner organizations who receive the specialized training (IO1) will be able to train on INTERMOVE model internally within their organizations (other tutors) as well as third organizations in order to be recognized with the INTERMOVE label. Previous INTERMOVE partners will work to develop the specialized training and new INTERMOVE partners will receive this training which will include the mobility of tutors to receive for face‐to‐face training sessions in the other partner universities. Staff mobility will be foreseen to implement the training activities following a multicultural approach. The design of this specialized training for trainers will include 2 Modules: one focused on intercomprehension and a second one focused on intercultural training. Specific contents related to e‐learning and management of on‐line learning platforms (moodle) will be included.

IO2. INTERMOVE Network
Every partner will work to extend the INTERMOVE Network, increasing the number of third organizations who receive INTERMOVE training and receive the INTERMOVE label. All partners who have previously received the training for trainers will train during the development of the Network 3 third organizations each so that they can be recognized with the INTERMOVE label and train their own participants. The project will also include a national Multiplier Event in order to disseminate the INTERMOVE model and attract third organizations to participate in the Network and training activities.
